Dante's Inferno sequel not up to Visceral Games

Visceral Games’ Zach Mumbach has revealed that the developer has no say as to whether or not we’ll see a sequel to its recent hack n’ slash outing Dante’s Inferno.
Chatting with the folks at Joystiq, Mumbach commented, "We sit in one building on one floor, so we're completely isolated," adding, "We work with marketing sometimes and PR sometimes, but when it comes to big business decisions - and this works both ways - you don't see John Riccitiello coming at me like 'You guys need to change this, you need to change that.' At the same time, we're not making the call on whether we do a sequel [to Dante's Inferno]."
Nonetheless, the Dead Space 2 associate producer seemed fairly optimistic over the chances of a sequel eventually happening, provided there is sufficient interest in a follow-up: "I'm sure that if enough people are like, 'I got 60 dollars for Purgatory or Paradiso,' then we would make that game,” he said.
"But I don't know. I don't get to make those decisions."
A sequel to Dante’s Inferno has been rumored for some time now, with the most recent evidence popping up in a job advertisement at Electronic Arts which said it's working on “the sequel to a major new IP at the award-winning Visceral Games, creators of Dead Space and Dante’s Inferno.”
Despite this, it's worth remembering that producer Jonathan Knight said back in February that the studio had "no plans" to work on a sequel. More as it breaks.----
