Sony opened its brand new PlayStation Lounge in midtown Manhattan today, November 9, 2010. According to Sony’s Joby Hirschfeld, Director of Creative Services, Channel Marketing and Events for SCEA, this first lounge is only the beginning.
When we asked Hirschfeld if Sony plans to expand the PlayStation Lounge beyond its current location, he called the first lounge a "proof of concept" — indicating, of course, that such a concept would be expanded upon.
Hirschfeld remained tight-lipped on where the next PlayStation Lounge(s) will appear, saying, "We’d like to go north of the [U.S.] border, south of the border, [and] to the west coast…"
Wherever the next lounge ends up, PlayStation gamers have reason to rejoice, as these lounges provide the public with a taste of E3’s style and content year-round.
