Game Informer spills more Mass Effect 3 info

Yet more details on BioWare’s hotly anticipated Mass Effect 3 have spilled from the pages of the latest issue of Game Informer (via VG247) for your viewing pleasure.

Apparently, key plot revelations throughout the sprawling sci-fi sequel will spill the beans on why the Reapers can be defeated, though the developers aren’t willing to go into any specific details until the game is out.

BioWare isn’t keen on making their weakness too apparent from the get-go either, with several red herrings being thrown in to keep you on your toes. Things kick off with you facing a seemingly hopeless situation before slowly working out what has to be done.

Elsewhere, the publication confirms that TIM has dispatched a number of his top agents to eliminate Shepard. In terms of combat, things will be a little tougher than before, and there will be an increased emphasis on melee attacks. Furthermore, targeting certain armor parts will yield different results.

Mass Effect 3 also allows you to scoop up enemy weapons, with battlezones coming in much larger than those found in previous instalments. Skill trees are larger, and players can bag species’ loyalty via a number of different means, and they won’t just be obtained through quests either.

GI notes that the various choices you made in the original game will have a profound effect on events in the threequel. An example includes that if you spared the Rachni, you’ll definitely know about it.

Mass Effect 3 releases this holiday season for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
