Some PlayStation Network functions down in the U.S., outages reported

Some functions of the U.S. PlayStation Network are down and Sony Computer Entertainment America will soon report back with more information.

A post on the PlayStation Blog confirms that only “certain functions” of the PSN are down. We don’t have any other information to report at this time. Connection to the network has been sporadic throughout the day for some (including this user), so hopefully a fix will come soon so we can get back to some Mortal Kombat online.

Official Sony forums requiring a PSN login, like and, also appear to be affected. The European, Japanese, and Australian PlayStation Network are all online and functional. During a test run, we were able to sign in and download content from all three regions.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more. Drop us a line in the comments section below and let us know if you are having any issues.
