Rocksteady has just released a new video, via GameSpot, for Batman: Arkham City, showing off Catwoman as a playable character.
We’ve known that Catwoman would be in Arkham City for quite some time now, and though we’ve only heard rumors and speculation, the video shows she will in fact be a playable character.
Catwoman will be a side-character that players can switch back and forth from when exploring the city, and not simply on a mission with Batman. Her story will run in parallel with Batman’s, and be about pilfering goods acquired from Gotham’s criminals.
Sporting her own style of fighting and exploring gameplay elements, Catwoman will be used to access areas which are otherwise inaccessible to Batman, whilst still focusing on the unique stealth aspects of Rocksteady’s previous Batman game, thanks to her unique abilities.
Batman: Arkham City is due out October 18, 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

This is great. We needed more characters in the game and to play as Catwoman it will be fun.

@2 I agree Nightwing would have been great as a playable character, but I guess Catwoman is the good-bad balance.
