We've known for a while that Metal Gear Solid would be getting its own version of the popular RISK board game, but now you have all the details you need to get started.

Konami today announced that RISK: Metal Gear Solid would be hitting North American shores in the form of a “mercenary-style” board game.

"Metal Gear Solid builds on the modernized and streamlined RISK game play introduced in 2008 with all new Metal Gear Solid components to create a unique, fun and fast paced experience for RISK and Metal Gear Solid Fans alike," said Lead Game Designer for USAopoly, Adam Sblendorio.

"In order to win you'll have to take advantage of Metal Gear Solid specific high powered black market weapons, hire the right mercenary boss at the right time, manage alliances and watch your back as the mobile battleship, Outer Haven, can invade territories from new locations (watch out Australia)."

Here's what we can expect from the new Metal Gear Risk game:

 - Custom designed map of earth (42 territories)
 - 275 custom plastic playing pieces (representing PMCs, neutral armies, and cities)
 - Custom Outer Haven battleship and game board
 - 8 Boss Cards
 - 40 Drebin's Cards
 - 42 territory cards
 - 8 rewards

RISK: Metal Gear Solid will be available for presale on October 3, 2011, exclusively through USAopoly.com. The Metal Gear Solid Risk Limited Edition will be priced at $49.95.

Thanks Dan, that's awesome, but would it not be a better solution for a video game?
