It’s that time of year again. While the malls are filled with plump holiday shoppers and the elves are working overtime, we have a moment to slow down and reflect on the year’s best videogames. This is no easy task as 2011 was a stellar year for games across Sony’s platforms. That’s why we are again turning to the community of PlayStation fans to pick the best games of the year. The staff picked the nominees, and while we encourage you to pick your favorite game in each category, you may nominate a game we did not include in each category. This year we’ll combine the community’s pick with the staff’s pick to compile PSU’s Best Games of 2011.
The rules are simple. Hop into this forum thread and pick your favorite games. Let your voice be heard. Polls close on Friday, Dec. 16 and we’ll start announcing the winners the following week. Try to pick a game in each category so we have a complete shakedown. You can also vote in the comments section below. Please avoid filling this space and the forum with lengthy debates about the nominees (simply to make the process easier for us). You can, of course, drop a quick opinion about your picks and we’ll use them in our final 'best of' list.

it should never be Skyrim as it has way too many bugs and anyway Uncharted 3 is a way better game so that should win hands and only an idiot would give it to Skyrim
