Legendary developer Hideo Kojima has told Famitsu magazine that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will show up in playable form at E3 2012.
The publication features a chat between Kojima alongside Tatsuya Minami and Atsushi Inaba of Rising developer Platinum Games, where the trio recall how the studio became in involved in the bloody hack-‘em-up.
Minami-san revealed that he had brushed off initial talk as a joke when first approached by Kojima Productions. In response to this, Kojima commented, “Even though we were serious, we didn’t get a response, so we asked a second time one year later.”
The Metal Gear father added that they first spoke about the collaboration properly during the PlayStation Vita’s announcement event. Furthermore, Minami confirmed that when Platinum finally did take over the project, the first thing they binned was the stealth element.
Kojima’s staff apparently didn’t feel that this would work well in conjunction with Rising’s high-speed limb slicing, and Kojima himself also wanted stealth removed from the title.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a firm release date yet to be pinned down.
