SEGA has hinted that it will be giving Dreamcast classics Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia a high-definition makeover in the not-too-distant future.
Quizzed by GameReactor as to what re-releases fans have most requested, associate brand manager, Ben Harborne, commented: "I can tell you what'll be: Shenmue. That, and Skies of Arcadia.”
He added: "They're a couple of our most requested games. I can't say 'yes' or 'no', but we may be working on them."
Shenmue was released on SEGA’s white wonder back in 2000, and has amassed something of a cult following over the past decade. The game and its sequel sees Japanese student Ryo Hazuki on a quest for revenge after he witnesses his father brutally murdered by the mysterious Lan Di.
Skies of Arcadia meanwhile is a quintessential JRPG which sees players exploring dungeons, battling monsters and traversing the skies in an airship. The story revolves around a young pirate named Vyse and chums as they embark on a quest to stop the Valuan Empire from salvaging an ancient weapon, which boasts apocalyptic powers.
SEGA is gearing up for the latest Dreamcast HD remaster, Jet Set Radio, which is due out on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this summer.
