Call of Duty: Black Ops II looks 'tired,' says EA

Electronic Arts has lobbed fresh mud in the direction of rival publisher Activision, labelling the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II as “tired.”
Writing on Twitter, Kevin O’ Leary, EA’s global product manager, reckons the long-running military franchise should have a brief rest from its annual release schedule.
“Poor [Black Ops II], you look tired, you should take a year off and rest,” he wrote.
The comments echo previous banter between both publishers leading up to the release of 2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3. This year however, Call of Duty will be going toe-to-toe with the next instalment in EA’s Medal of Honor series.

EA jealous much? LOL, like EA wouldn't be doing the exact same thing as activision are if they had a game selling like COD also dont treyarch and infinity ward switch each year so the games get 2 years not 1, i have noticed EA do use COD hatred for promoting there shooters that twitter remark being just 1 example, im not a big fan of COD or battlefield for that matter but i always get each COD cause it will be a safe purchase, i can trade COD after a few weeks and still get most of my money back no other game can do this in my experience any others i get half of what i paid if im lucky.

And EA is doing same thing. This October Medal Of Honor and next October is Battlefield 4. Because Black Ops 2 is coming thats why EA is saying that to attrack the players towards Medal Of Honor. Old strategy. (:

@barbrady88, You make such a compelling argument... everyone should go buy COD cause its a safe buy that they can just return and get their money back on. Sounds like the best of NO worlds. Not only do you not own a game that you can play over and over, you also screw companies out of money... bravo... you're such a crafty consumer.. wait crafty? no no, crappy, thats the word... crappy consumer.
You know why COD is such a "safe buy"? because NOTHING about it changes every year.... you know you're getting the same game you got 4 years ago, only with a different name.

will say at least EA has built two new engines for their shooters. COD may have some fun gameplay elements but it looks like poo. I play both games and it is clear that both are fun but EA pushes the envelope of graphics and physics a lot more. I've gone to skipping every other COD because I'm not missing anything and I prefer the Modern Warfare versions over the BlackOps and World at War.

Of course EA would talk smack about other companies when EA themselfs was told to be the worst company in the U.S. by the consumerist and now EA admits origin is a failure. Im not the biggest fan of Treyarch nor a hater of EA but this is just funny.

its funny how everyone is arguing this as "EA vs. Treyarch/infinity ward"
you're idiots, its either "EA vs activision" or "Dice vs Treyarch / Infinity ward"
you can't compare a publisher to a developer or vice versa.
EA puts out crap games, so does activision. Dice MAKES good games, Treyarch MAKES crap games.
Thats like saying "this coach really knows how to run a baseball team VS this player really knows how to play baseball" they are two completely different things. -

i clearly said trade so how am i screwing over the companies i'll never buy the add ons and i get bored after a few weeks all i was stating was that i dont lose much money when i trade COD i trade any game i get bored with companies aren't losing any money, i only buy games new anyway -

@11 Companies lose money because trade-ins provide retailers with an extra supply of games rather than having to purchase them directly from the developers. Therefore developers lose money as a result of people trading in games because the retailer will be buying the game from you rather than them. Also, how can you say Call of Duty is a safe purchase when you claim you get bored after a couple of weeks? Your comments contradict each other. If you're bored within a few weeks of purchasing a game, it obviously wasn't a good enough buy and as a result isn't a safe purchase.
