Battlefield 3: Close Quarters hits PS3 today, one week earlier than Xbox 360, PC

EA is bringing more multiplayer madness to Battlefield 3 this week, and as usual, PS3 owners get the goods first.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters ups the ante with tightly-focused maps focused on frantic skirmishes and vertical gameplay. The DLC also adds 10 new Assignments, 5 unique dog tags and 10 new weapons, including the AUG Assault Rifle, ACW-R Carbine, and SPAS-12 shotgun. The pack comes free with Battlefield 3 Premium (a $49.99 pass for all current and future downloadable content), but costs $14.99 when bought separately.

Look for the Close Quarters pack when the North American PS Store updates later today, and stay tuned for more Battlefield 3 DLC - Armored Kill, Aftermath, and End Game - in the coming months. The best part? PS3 will always get it one week early.
