Report - 89% of you will play MGS4 again for Trophies

A few weeks ago I asked you if you’d replay Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in August, when PlayStation Trophies are scheduled to be released for the game.

This may shock the average gamer—especially if you don’t go out of your way to acquire Trophies—but our poll results suggest that 89.5% of you do intend on playing MGS4 again to once trophies are patched into the game.

That means that only 10.5% of you who don’t actually plan on playing it again.

Even some of you who’ve already played the heck out of the game are expressing your excitement to have another go at it, like this guy:

bigCman123: "Hell yes I will! Lol back when MGS4 came out I actually played through it 7 times (I don't do that kind of stuff now). It's been too long and I've been waiting for this. It's a good time to relive one of the best games of this generation! "

gangsta_795 makes a good point:

“Undoubtedly.Too bad MGS Online is down now.”

We wonder if this patch might slightly spike sales of the game as well, seeing as most PlayStation fans are itching to jump back in. But what about those of you who’ve chosen to ignore the trophy patch?

Abdou23 says: "As much as I love it, I don't think I will be playing it again, already finished it twice ( this & Uncharted 2 are the only games I played twice ) and I don't care for trophies and all that nonsense."

So what do you think about these numbers? Did you think they’d be so high? It seems that so many of you are eager to dust off your copy of Metal Gear Solid 4, and start hunting for trophies—even though we’re almost all certain they’ll be very, very hard to obtain.

It's nice that Konami has added Trophy support for MGS4 and I hope more developers follow suit.

Particularly SEGA with Valkyria Chronicles, which came out almost at the same time as MGS4.

I have data that says this data is not true! Haha.

Nah but for me it's yes and no, I am a completionist, and I will only play the game if the platinum is actually obtainable, lol.

I can honestly play this game over and over again. The one thing that really prevented me from playing a 3rd time was the horrible load screens between chapters. Since they announced they are gonna fix that with the update, i'm jumping back in.

I bought my 360 early this console cycle for games like Mass Effect, Gears of War, and Modern Warfare but waited until 2009 to purchase my PS3 and as such, I held onto my MGS4 hoping one day for trophy support. Didn't make sense for me to trade in such a great game for pennies on the dollar. Keep hope alive people!!!! The day has arrived!!!!

Commenting that it is too bad that MGS Online is down is now a good point|?

    Interesting.  Thought nobody cared?

I would play MGS4 again without the trophy support.
