Here's why Bayonetta 2 is on Wii U, not on PS3; 360

It was announced earlier this week that Bayonetta 2, the long-awaited sequel, is releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U, and Tatsuya Minami, studio head at Platinum Games, came out today and said why.
It's strange to see a multiplatform game become exclusive, but Nintedo seemed to win over a title which once graced both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and here's what Minami said in regards to the change:
"Along with their new hardware, Nintendo, as a company, is dedicated to establishing a new future for the games industry, as you can tell by their record of passionate support for gaming. Alongside Nintendo, we hope to grow the Bayonetta brand beyond where it stands today, allowing even more gamers around the world to experience the action of our beloved witch. As developers, we are working hard to make this a reality."
Something must have swayed the opinions withing Platinum Games, but it's seems risky to try re-establishing a title on a brand new console. Surely, Bayonetta 2 would yield more revenuw across all platforms, but all we can do is speculate at this point. Let us know if the loss of Bayonetta to the PlayStation brand is a bitter feeling or no big deal.

Did Bayonetta sell well? Was it a match for the competition of todays games on the PS3 & 360? Maybe thats the answer?
Looking at his gens games (PS3/360), Beyonetta fits right in as "typical" Maybe it will stand out more on Wii, or head in a different direction that isn't as "typical" as games on PS3/360?

I don't think it sold well at all, I can't see in what universe this will be a good idea.

@4 I totally agree. I'm bitter that a franchise I enjoyed has, for the lack of a more relative word, defected to a, in my opinion, lesser brand--especially since it's exclusive. This is quite a flip from what I expected, since Platinum Games is putting such a strong emphasis on the PS3 version of Metal Gear Rising. Perhaps it was Kojima pushing them around, which I respect, to get that result. Who knows? Maybe PG will realize that Nintendo gamers haven't been exposed to games like this before and see why it's a terrible decision (the title of the game isn't Mario or Zelda lol).

@Digitalbeast
I suggest you look at the question marks at the end of my sentences. If you can read, then maybe you would then understand that they were posted as questions, not statements. ¬ ¬
And to answer your question.......... I haven't a clue. Bayonetta is not my type of game, hense anything similar would not be my type of game. Which therefore means, I would not know if something was similar.
Think 1st, jump in with both feet 2nd.

I agree with Blacksite, aside for the last bit that I'm assuming was sarcasm, a lousy atempt anyways.
I suppose this would be a decent way of forcing the WiiU down the throats of the many of us who loved the first game on the other consoles, but still this leavs a bitter taste in t=my mouth, amoung many.

Disappointed. I don't see how they think it will broaden the fan base. If you want to do that, then release it on all platforms. I didn't like the Wii, so I'm not going to purchase a Wii U. My kids didn't even play the Wii that much. Really want this game on the PS3.

Not at all bothered, personally. It's not a game I bothered with, and as far as I know, the PS3 version was pretty sucky anyway.
I'm not the least bit interested in Nintendo's hardware, or their games, for no other reason than they don't "do it" for me - they never have. I'm sure the Wii-U will have its success, but I certainly won't be buying one.

The "U" elements of the game could translate over to a PS3 Vita game possibly... even for Xbox there "smart glass" might even translate down the line.

This is a bummer. The game sold well at 2 million copies and rated and played well with a 90 average on metacritic. I wonder why the change.
