If you're disappointed with the twenty characters revealed thus far for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, we're sorry to report that you won't have more to look forward to for launch.
PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman tweeted earlier today that all of the characters playable for launch have been revealed. When responding to a fan asking if more than 20 characters would be included, Shuman replied, "We have revealed the full launch lineup of characters". This news casts a dark cloud over fans eager to see the inclusion of Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and a myriad of potential Final Fantasy candidates.
Here's the full list of characters playable at launch. Any inclusions you lament? What characters are sorely missing? Are you happy with the list? Let us know in the comments below.
1. Big Daddy
2. Cole MacGrath
3. Evil Cole MacGrath
4. Colonel Radec
5. Dante
6. Fat Princess
7. Heihachi Mishima
8. Jak and Daxter
9. Kratos
10. Nariko
11. Nathan Drake
12. PaRappa the Rapper
13. Raiden
14. Ratchet and Clank
15. Sackboy
16. Sir Daniel Fortesque
17. Sly Cooper
18. Spike
19. Sweet Tooth
20. Toro
Thanks, IGN.

Terrible news.
First of all, why would you give two different character slots for Cole MacGrath as opposed to making the other side an alternative costume? And why did they feel the need to include Big Daddy? I don't care how great of a game BioShock was. Not saying it wasn't great but it isn't a PlayStation exclusive.

FAIL. What was once a day-one purchase just now became an extra $65 in my pocket. Gonna pass this up until the inevitable re-release with all DLC.

@4
If you played inFamous at all you'd know that the biggest difference between good and evil Cole are the movesets. Makes a lot of sense that they'd make different character slots.

@ 6: I am familiar with inFamous (one of my favorite PS3 titles) but at the end of the day it's getting more love than any of the other characters and their respective IPs. Now if Superbot wants to come out and say that they have some unlockable characters (5-10) then fair enough.

This is extremely odd, after Omar Kendall said there was going to be a TGS reveal, and Seth Killian stated after the Sir Dan reveal that there would be more PSone love. Maybe a falling out of sorts with the company they were trying to get a character from?

Wow, so they initially moved the release date to November because they listened to fan feedback, but now they are going to pull something like this when we all wanted more well known characters. For shame

20 characters isnt that bad for a first installment you have to account for keeping things balanced and the more characters you add the more you have to consider leveling the playing field. Im zure that as time goes buy there will be some dlc availble or a ne installment with 5 or so more characters. Your always going to dissapoint some fans and i know this gets old but you cant please everybody.

@18, Tom Williamson
Stop talking. Melee had 25 Characters and Brawl had 35.
That's besides the point. The issue with this Character List is that it doesn't represent Sony Playstation properly. Which characters represented Playstation a decade and a half ago?
Lara Croft
Spyro the Dragon
Crash Bandicoot
Cloud Strife
Gex
And more. How many of those characters are going to appear in this game?
Super Smash Brothers had a balanced cast of characters that honored Nintendo throughout the years (Not that it's changed much). This All Stars cast does not. Bioshock came out for Xbox a year before Playstation.. So why Big Daddy? And I'm sure everyone was relieved to hear that Fat Princess was included.

I think this will clear up somethings... This is why I don't like reports from IGN but I'll go with this article. I makes more sense anyways and the site daicated to everything to do with the game anyways! :D
