(continued from previous page) ...after a difficult platinum?

CuGuy: Cue dramatic music - Believe in your goal

Lasombra: Regardless of the system, what pre-trophy game would you auto-buy if it was released on the PS3 with trophy support?

CuGuy: None. It is a good question, but if I passed a game in the past, trophies will not make me buy it.

Lasombra: What's it like being the community manager of PSU.com? Can you give the viewer a rundown of your duties and responsibilities on a daily basis?

CuGuy: It is crazy being the CM. As you'd expect I get approached by every manner of member with ideas on how they think the place should be run. Yes, I listen and consider each and every complaint or suggestion, but there is a line to which things they propose can be done and I do my best to make that clear. Sometimes being CM is more of a juggling act between differing member opinions than it should be, but what can ya do? Daily though, typically, my duties I try to start with researching what we can do feature wise to the site to make it better for our members. I am always on the lookout for things we can try to implement. Then I check into the tracking database to look at the bug fix/feedback requests. I work frequently with site management to coordinate fixes, track feedback, and handle some of the off the wall requests we get in relation to accounts and such. My days start with a trip to the reports section to see if there are any items that need my attention that the staff seems to struggle with. After that, I go over all staff forums looking for issues. Once all that is done, I check VM/PMs and respond as needed. Only then do I get out into the forums and post for actual fun!

Lasombra: How did you find out about PSU?

CuGuy: Honestly, a good old fashioned web search in 2007.

Lasombra: What made you want to work for a gaming website, while already working a standard 40-hour job? Love of the culture?

CuGuy: Contrary to popular opinion, this isn't really a job. I am not paid. However, my love for gaming and the site as a whole is what really keeps me around. In late 2007, early 2008 when I made staff (SMC), I knew this was a place that believed in me enough to give a relatively new member a shot, so I try to pay that back.

Lasombra: Have you ever wanted to visit the Double Deuce, or are you just a big Patrick Swayze fan? Who do you think does a better job at throat-ripping: Swayze (Road House) vs. Stallone (Rambo 4)?

CuGuy: Depends on who is on staff performing that night. If it is Jeff Healy, sure I will visit! I think that movie Roadhouse contains a lot of very prophetic lines. My favourite, be nice until it is time to NOT be nice. Swayze was a good actor, I liked a lot of his stuff, but I think this is his best role! And sorry, gotta go with Rambo. Swayze wasn't believable as a throat ripper LOL

Lasombra: Not having any interest in trophies, what are the kinds of games you find fun to play?

CuGuy: Games like GTA or Skyrim hold my interest more than others. I love it that you can either play the game as intended or run off and do a zillion side items or nothing at all. I have twin 4 yr old boys, so the ability to not have to make it to pre-determined save points is a big plus. I can stop at any time.

Lasombra: Having been around since the genesis of the age of video games, has it amazed you that in only a couple decades the technology has gone from Pong to The Last of Us?

CuGuy: I played Pong, the original double paddle connected to your antenna jack console from Sears. It astounds me every day to see where gaming has us. I showed my kids the Atari Anthology and they were almost disgusted. They certainly are of the era where graphics reign supreme over content.

Lasombra: Are you a family man? Do your kids play video games at all?

CuGuy: Yes, I am very much a family man. It always comes first to ... (continued on next page)
