Rumor: PS4 'outperforms new Xbox,' has redesigned pad

According to EDGE, the PlayStation 4 will launch with a redesigned controller featuring a share button and small touchpad.
The pad itself is said to be similar in size to the PlayStation 3 DualShock controller, though the touchpad will replace the existing start, select and PS butons.
Citing industry sources, the website also states that Sony will begin rolling out the new console this winter in the U.S. and Japan. PAL regions however, won’t get it until early 2014 due to "complexities involved in European distribution."
EDGE backed up previous reports that the PS4 will be revealed this month at the PlayStation Meeting on February 20.
The site added that “the PS4 hardware will continually record the most recent 15 minutes of onscreen action (with no processing penalty, claims our source), which users will then be able to edit and broadcast via the Internet.”
In terms of technical prowess, EDGE said Sony’s new hardware “on paper, outperforms Microsoft’s next Xbox,” and includes an eight-core 1.6Hz CPU and 4GB DDR5 RAM solution as previously reported.
Finally, a “new, improved iteration of its PlayStation Eye peripheral” is in the works, the site reports, while PlayStation Move will also be compatible with the new machine.
PSU.com reported earlier today that PS4 will be released in November of this year, though it wasn’t made clear to us which territory this referred to. In light of EDGE’s report however, we presume it pertains to the Japan and/or U.S. launch.
Stay tuned.

@snooper71, that is not what I was trying to say, which is why I said, 1.6 GHZ was very slow UNLESS they had some crazy awesome cpu architecture, which I am willing to bet their architecture won't make up for the speed. Sorry if I did not make that clear in my first post.

@snoopers71 thats not what ANYONE was trying to say, and it was clear no one was saying that. This was obviously one person pointing out that PSU made a typo and stating such in a sarcastic way. Even if sarcasm is lost through text, it's still pretty obvious. Same goes for Digitalretard... no one gives one crap about what you said (Hz or not) point is that you're an illiterate moron masquerading as a slightly lesser idiot, and you can't read.... but its funny when you try to call people out for the same mistakes you make, so go right ahead with all that.

@Digilator I find it funny that your greatest charge against me is the fact that I misread. This is true. I did misread. " though the touchpad will replace the existing start, select and PS butons." When I read "ps buttons" I thought they meant the actual buttons on the controller and not just the ps button in the middle. However if my misreading got you so butthurt that you felt the need to refer to me as a cretin, its pretty ironic that the same thing which irks you so, applies to your dumbazz as well. Did you not see that #4 already cleared everything up or are you just that much of a blind hypocrite? Or is it that you were bothered so much by my comment that you had to vent your anger somehow?
I think the funniest thing here is that you call me all these names on the internet and you feel brave but this is because you're hiding behind a keyboard. I guarantee if we were sitting next to each other at a library or something and I said my earlier comment outloud, you wouldnt dare say what you typed here to my face or anyone else's here. If you DID even say anything, it would come out sounding courteous and helpful because you're a little bytch who only has the gall to flame ppl on the web. Lol man up, lad. -

Os...It's just Digilator. He is angry and lonely I think. He is not at all representative of our community...just of angry basement dwelling keyboard warriors with hairy palms.

@ 29 Stevic
technically (depending on who you talk to) the PS3 only has one true core, with 7 hands (of sorts) also, clock speed isn't a good indicator of performance. AMD's top CPU is 4GHz, yet performs worse than an i7 which is 3,4GHz that being said, i am somewhat underwhelmed by the CPU, games console notwithstanding.

@27, clearly everything you said about digitaljackoffs fear is true. Why else would sad little people come onto the internet and try and get attention like this tard... because they're just losers and they know that. So to compensate they boost their egos by fighting against people who can't truely fight back, this is the same type of idiot who would probably hit a disabled person because of the lack of retaliation.. He knows in reality this a war he'd never win. So get your kicks in now kiddo, because its pretty obvious that you dont have much of a life and you're not happy with that. If you weren't so sad it would actually be funny.

honomaru just owned Digilator.
Although saying he wouldn't talk to people like that in real life is a little unfair, no-one here would talk to each other the way they are in real life. The internet removes all respect that we would usually show towards other human beings - because no-one cares about a disagreement with someone they'll never meet!
And also, saying he has no life and is a loser isn't cool, that's the lowest of internet insults. For all we know he could be a very successful person. Sure, he's been a bit of a d!ck recently, but calling people idiots/losers and making assumptions about what they're like in really life is pretty petty, not to mention ineffective.
At least keep it relevant to the disagreement on hand rather than bringing assumptions and petty insults into this guys!
