Ever since the PlayStation 4 was revealed last Wednesday, Sony has received a lot of criticism over not showing the console itself, but the head of Sony UK has some words he would like to exchange with the 'nay-sayers'.
In an interview with Videogamer, Sony Computer Entertainment UK Managing Director Fergal Gara expressed his annoyance over the media and public complaining about the physical PS4 console not being shown last week. He stated, "I understand that frustration but frankly, a box is a box. Is that really the most important thing?"
Gara went on to explain, "So right, it wasn't available to show last night, it wasn't considered appropriate to show it last night. So what? It's much more important to see what the damn thing does. The shiniest piece of black, green or purple plastic ever, you know, whatever, so what? It's not the most important thing."
For the rest of the interview, you can find it here.
Was Sony right for being annoyed over the criticism, or do you believe that a box should have been shown? Let us know down below and keep your eyes posted to PSU as we cover all things PlayStation!

Sony did a great job at surprise us all with what they had to show, i'm sure xbox fans can agree.
as for the console it's self well they have to leave something out if they want to surprise us again in couple of months time.
i think that sony had carefully and in a very smart way shown us what the future has in store for us..
the box as they call it is of no relevance whats o ever.
it's just haters and we should not even care in the slightest what they are all rambling about..
really who cares about the final design of the console..
the controller is much more interesting and cant wait to get it in my hands.. -

Pesonally I was disssapointed in not seeing the actual console but not showing it will make E3 more interesting, plus sony still has to give a price tag and actual launch date for the consol. At the end, sony did right in not revealing this info, don't want to spill the beans all at once, lol! Making me hungry for PS4 info, E3 couldn't come sooner.

I was disappointed they didn't show the console itself. But I get the point behind it and makes me want to see what they do at E3. The person who spoke for Sony was a wrong though. A few questions about the confrence and he gets pissed about bringing the questions up. He couldv'e explained the reasons a lot politer then he did. Sony needs to watch what he does from now until launch. After all he is speaking about their whole company.

I COULD NOT care less how the ps4 looks like, there is no way it could be so ugly that people wouldn't buy it for the looks. They could repackage it in the ps3's body with the 3 crossed out and a 4 sticker in it's place for all i care. what is important is what it does, the graphics, the features and the games.
