The world premiere trailer for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag leaked ahead of its Monday reveal for a brief moment online today. More importantly, the trailer outed not only the release date of the game, but a possible time frame for when the next-generation consoles, like the PlayStation 4, will be out.

The video begins with a voice saying, "There was a time I thought myself the deadliest scourge of these seas. But this man..." What follows is a typical Assassin's Creed trailer filled with the game's protagonist, Captain Edward Kenway, stabbing and slashing. Then a final title slide appears, as you can see below in the screenshot taken by Kotaku.

A late October release date is normal for an Assassin's Creed game. What is interesting is the line below it: "Also coming on next-gen consoles." From the sounds of it, Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles will not be released by October 29th, pinning a November date for when the PlayStation 4 will launch.

On the bottom, logos for the platforms that AC IV will be on are displayed. Curiously enough, they do not include a logo for the next Xbox. This could mean Microsoft will not release their next-gen system in 2013, giving Sony a head start on the new generation. Or perhaps that for the time being, publishers aren't allowed to formerly name and acknowledge the next Xbox.
