March 15 sees the hotly-anticipated launch of God of War: Ascension, the latest entry in Sony Santa Monica’s bloody hack-‘n-slash series which began back in 2005 on PlayStation 2. Once again, chrome dome Kratos is the star of the show, though this time the action takes the form of a prequel set a decade before the events of the original game. As such, players can expect to experience a more human side to our perpetually-pissed off Spartan.
With multiplayer, a new set of moves and hulking bosses, God of War: Ascension is certainly the most ambitious entry in the franchise to date – but is it actually any good? We’ve rounded up a varied bunch of review scores below, so have at it.

I was hoping for a little better score on the reviews, but I don't think anyone was expecting this to be better than God Of War III.
