BioShock: Infinite, Tomb Raider help boost U.K. boxed sales

Sales of physical goods in the U.K. have received a kick up the backside thanks to the release of BioShock: Infinite and Tomb Raider.

The critically-acclaimed titles helped boxed goods move 2.67 million units in the region last month, reports MCV.

While sales fell 1.5 per cent year-on-year, January and February both experienced far larger declines in overall sales, so it wasn’t all bad news.

Furthermore, videogame retailers reported revenue of £70.6 million for March, marking an increase of 4.2 per cent in comparison to the same period last year.

Tomb Raider proved the biggest seller of last month, and shifted more than double the amount achieved by second-place holder, BioShock: Infinite. However, it’s worth pointing out that Tomb Raider launched at the beginning of the month, while BioShock came out on March 26.
