Whore of the Orient dev may close as game struggles to find investor

Kennedy Miller Mitchell, the Australian developer comprising talent from L.A. Noire creator Team Bondi, may soon be faced with job losses.

This rumor comes on the heel of this morning's news that Team Bondi / KMM's tightly wrapped project, a next-gen adventure titled Whore of the Orient, has been delayed indefinitely or cancelled altogether. Superannuation reported that Warner Bros. had dropped out of publishing duties as early as last Christmas, but MCV Pacific claims, citing unnamed sources, that KMM has yet to officially close doors.

For now, that info holds true, but doubt has been cast on KMM's future after company partner Doug Mitchell released an official statement earlier today: "Whore of the Orient is a unique and extraordinary story and game," he professes, "and we are still actively pursuing the right investor to partner with."

Without capital for ongoing development, what will happen to Whore of the Orient and KMM? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below, and stay glued to PSU.com for more details as they break.
