PS4 shooter Destiny may feature microtransactions

The LinkedIn profile of an Activision exec indicates that Destiny, Bungie’s open-world, sci-fi shooter, could come to PlayStation 4 and PS3 side-carred by microtransactions.

The details were dug up by Superannuation (via Destructoid), which notes Ryan Wener, a director of marketing and product management for Activision, worked on "monetization modeling" in his duties on Destiny. While little is known about Bungie’s plans for Destiny beyond co-op gameplay and rich lore, it’s somewhat troubling that plans to nickel-and-dime consumers may already be in place.

Of course, this is all speculation, and maybe you’re the kind of gamer who enjoys small purchases to supplement your gaming experience. Whatever the case, we won’t know for sure until Activision comments on the matter; we’ll update you if and when the publisher does.
