Need for Speed movie shifts up a gear as filming commences

Filming has kicked off on the film adaptation of Need for Speed in Macon, Georgia, according to local news report.

The pulse-pounding racer will star Michael Keaton and Aaron Paul, the latter who portrays the anti-hero Toby Marshall, an arrogant adrenaline junkie who is wrongly accused of a federal crime and seeks retribution following his escape from prison.

Imogen Poots will also co-star as an exotic car dealer.

Need for Speed is due out on February 14, 2014. The film features a script penned by sibling scribes George and John Gatins, and will be released via Touchstone Pictures, courtesy of DreamWorks and EA.
