PS4 surprises inspired BEYOND: Two Souls development, says Quantic Dream

Quantic Dream co-founder Guillaume de Fondaumiere has detailed how tinkering with a PlayStation 4 dev kit bolstered development efforts on BEYOND: Two Souls, his studio's PS3 opus.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, Fondaumiere explained that Quantic Dream received PS4 development hardware "a few years ago," and that elements of BEYOND: Two Souls, like high-definition rendering, were inspired by PS4 discoveries.
"It's the reason it looks the way it looks," said de Fondaumiere. "High-definition rendering was something we thought was not possible to that [level] on the PlayStation 3. We found ways to easily do that on the PlayStation 4. We thought, 'Wow, my God, if we could do it on the PS3.'"
de Fondaumiere went on to explain that visual components of the studio's PS4 engine can be found in BEYOND: Two Souls, making Jodie Holmes' globe-trotting adventure the closest thing we have to a hint at what Quantic Dream's PS4 debut could look like.
Well, the second-closest thing. Quantic Dream's E3 2013 tech demo Dark Sorcerer is probably quite a bit closer to "Holy crap, this is PS4" eye candy levels.
