Beyond: Two Souls rated R18+ in Australia, has heavy drug use

PlayStation 3-exclusive Beyond: Two Souls has nabbed a R18+ certificate in Australia.

The Quantic Dream thriller, the studio’s first outing since 2010’s Heavy Rain, features high impact violence and drug use, strong impact themes, moderate impact language and sex, and very mild impact nudity.

Australia’s ratings body also offered a consumer advice warning, for “threats of sexual violence and interactive drug use.”

Beyond: Two Souls is scheduled to ship in October, and stars Hollywood A-listers Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. The game centres on Page’s character, Jodie Holmes, over 15 years of her life as she attempts to discover the truth of the mysterious entity known as Aiden, which has accompanied her throughout much of her life.

As frequently touted, Beyond is very much centred on the theme of death, and seeks to give players the answer to ‘what lies beyond’ once we die.

Beyond: Two Souls is due out on October 8.
