“We’re really going to try to follow the same camera and have the smooth transition between cinematics and the gameplay.”
“It’s an open world, we’re not planning on adding as many cinematics,” he added.
MGSV: The Phantom Pain is a full sequel to the events of MGS: Peace Walker, and takes place in the year 1984. However, the game itself will contain a dedicated prologue chapter, Ground Zeroes, set nine years before, which sees Big Boss invading Camp Omega in Cuba on a hostage rescue mission.
Once awakened from his coma following the prologue events, our hero, now known as Punished Snake, forms a new group known as Diamond Dogs and infiltrates a region in Afghanistan to seek revenge for the events depicted in Ground Zeroes.
MGSV is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. A release date has yet to be announced.
