Mega Man-inspired Mighty No. 9 coming to PS4, PS3, and Vita with all Kickstarter goals met

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9 has been doing fairly well for itself since the game's Kickstarter campaign was unveiled a short while ago, and why wouldn't it? Inafune's contributions to the industry have been massive and any project he wants to start almost deserves support by name alone.
So, it doesn't come as much of a surprise to learn that before the Kickstarter ended, Mighty No. 9 managed to not only meet its goal, but also reach all of its optional stretch goals. This means that gamers on just about every platform will be able to play Mighty No. 9, as it will be released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PS Vita, 3DS, PC, and Mac in 2015.
The $4 Million stretch goal was the final stretch goal Mighty No. 9 had, and thanks to nearly 70,000 contributors, it was met. This final goal being met allows for Mighty No. 9 to launch with an online multiplayer mode. In the multiplayer mode, two players will battle to see who can complete stages the fastest. You will be able to see a 'ghost' image of your opponent in the game and you will be unable to interact with one another. There is a catch to this, though: every enemy you kill will be sent over to your opponents game and vice versa. The development team, comcept USA, believes that this is an "all new twist on versus mode play that will give Mighty No. 9 life well beyond the single-player campaign".
Elsewhere, Mighty No. 9 bears several close similarities to old-school Mega Man. The composers of both Mega Man and Mega Man 2 are signed on for the project, and players control Beck, the titular No. 9 who faces off against other robots in six stages (now eight, with the first stretch goal met) that can be completed in any order. It's Mega Man design sensibilities at their finest, replete with character transformations and a computer virus that has caused the world's robots to go rogue.
