GfK Chart-Track has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has moved over 2.6 million copies in the U.K. since its launch on September 17 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The critically-acclaimed sandbox title provided a massive boost to retail sales in the country, accounting for 52 per cent of all U.K. video game sales last month.
September saw 5.17 million boxed games sold in the U.K., representing a 45 per cent increase year-on-year. Total sales reached £187.2 million.
Rockstar launched Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer companion title to GTA V, on October 1. The game has experienced numerous teething issues since its launch, though Rockstar has already started working on a fix -- a PS3 update is now available.
