PS4's DualShock 4 controller will work on PCs, says Sony

Sony has today confirmed on Twitter some surprising news about the PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller.

The news broke when gamers on Twitter were keen to discover if Sony's next-gen controller was compatible with a PC. In response to their questions, Sony's President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida tweeted that, “the analogue sticks and buttons will work just fine."

Yoshida San was then asked more questions about whether or not the DualShock 4’s PC options will be available straight from the box. Yoshida tweeted, “for basic functions, yes.” He then added that gamers will have to wait for a “post-launch field report,” to see what the DualShock 4 can and can't do, on a PC.

Yet again this is another smart move from Sony, making DualShock 4 controllers have some PC functions can only increase their desirability and increase their sales figures. However, if the controllers can only perform very basic PC functions, the whole idea might backfire.

Do you think this is another great idea from Sony? Will you use your DualShock 4 controller on your PC? Since games like Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn have controller functionality right away, this might be the perfect use for the DualShock 4 on PC. Let us know in the comments.
