The lead designer on Killzone: Shadow Fall has confirmed that the latest edition in the sci-fi FPS franchise has eliminated the notorious input lag that has plagued the series since day one.
The issue was tackled in 2011’s Killzone 3, though it wasn't completely removed from the equation.
However, speaking with VG247, Eric Boltjes said that the upcoming Shadow Fall - which launches alongside the PlayStation 4 this November - has managed to iron out most of these niggles thanks to the application of the DualShock 4.
Said Boltjes: “We really pushed them to make better triggers that go up. Also stuff like the touch-pad. When I first saw it on the prototype controller I was like, ‘What the hell am I supposed to do with that? It’s not an iPhone game.’ But i’m really surprised as to how well that little thing works. I’m not promoting it, I don’t have to sell that controller, but I’m really happy with how it works in our game. Everything else works now, from the response time, the dead-zones, everything is better. The lag is gone, and that makes Killzone a better game.”
Killzone: Shadow Fall is due out on November 15 in North America and in Europe on November 29.
Developer Guerrilla Games recently confirmed details on the Scout class for Shadow Fall’s multiplayer component.
