The Amazing Spider-Man 2 coming to PS4, Xbox One, includes new enemies and Hero and Menace system

Activision and Marvel have confirmed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in May 2014 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC.

Released to coincide with the action movie starring Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be a third-person, free-roaming adventure that takes place across a “greatly expanded” New York City.

Speaking to the audience at New York Comic Con, Beenox studio co-head Thomas Wilson said: "We're giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges, and more freedom to progress. And with the game launching alongside the new movie, offering an expanded interactive experience beyond the film, fans of the franchise won't want to miss playing it."

Beenox confirmed a new Hero or Menace system that has consequences based on your actions and rewards players for certain behaviour, as well some brand new enemies that will fight alongside some familiar faces. The narrative won’t be lifted directly from the film, but the plot will offer an alternative take on events.
