Ubisoft has announced that it expects Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to sell at least 10 million copies.
The French publisher dropped the figure during its conference call with investors yesterday.
Interestingly, the forecast puts sales of the pirate-themed adventure below that of its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed III, which sold 12.5 million copies in its first six months on sale.
“We expect Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag to be a highly-rated game,” commented Ubisoft boss, Yves Guillemot.
“Previews have been very positive and the title will again be among the highest performers of the year. We are very confident with the performance of Assassin's Creed 4 and the numbers we have in our model, it is going to be key for the launch of the new consoles this Christmas."
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sees gamers controlling pirate-turned-assassin Edward Kenway, during the Golden Age of Piracy during the early 1700s. The game is due out worldwide on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 29, and arrives on PlayStation 4, PC, Wii U and Xbox One in November.
