EA has shown the first image of the next-generation of its golf series, which will no longer bear the name of famed pro golfer Tiger Woods.

The company says, "EA SPORTS and Tiger Woods have also made a mutual decision to end our partnership, which includes Tiger's named PGA TOUR golf game. We’ve always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors."

EA also confirms that they will continue working with the PGA TOUR, and one might expect the series to continue including the organization in its name. An image was released as well, comparing the next-gen game with what appears on current-gen offerings:

This announcement follows news that EA has not renewed its partnership with the NCAA and won't be making games explicitly associated with the college football association anymore.
