EA raises concerns over Dragon Age: Inquisition 2014 release date

Dragon Age: Inquisition might not make its intended fall 2014 release date, publisher Electronic Arts has suggested.

The company cast doubt on the hotly-anticipated fantasy RPG’s release window during its Q2 2014 financial call yesterday evening.

Said Blake Jorgensen, EA’s Chief Financial Officer: “We were highly conscious of the fact that, if Battlefield is as successful as we believe it’ll be, that that sets ourselves up for a challenge next year.

“But remember, we’re introducing NBA next year. We’re introducing UFC next year. We have Sims next year, we would most likely, possibly have Dragon Age next year.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the third installment in the critically-acclaimed franchise that began in 2009 with Dragon Age: Origins and continued with 2011’s Dragon Age II. The title was originally scheduled to ship this year, but was pushed back to autumn 2014 earlier this year.

While Jorgensen’s comments do not outright confirm another delay for the game, they do suggest that a further slip is a possibility.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is due out on current and next-generation platforms. Stay tuned for more details as we get them.
