The Best 100 Games Of the PS3 Generation

  • Posted November 28th, 2013 at 11:52 EDT by PSU Staff

We've argued, changed our minds a dozen times and agonised over choosing the top 100 PS3, PS Vita and PSP games of the generation. With the launch of Sony's PlayStation 4 in the U.K on November 28, there's no better time to reminisce and revisit some of those classic titles that we've enjoyed since the launch of PS3 in 2006.

So, without further ado, here's our top 100.

100. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Metacritic Rating - 74

Proving the old adage ‘if it ain't broke don't fix it,’ Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 gave fans more action-packed super hero antics; this time following the plot of the Civil War comic series. Players could side with Captain America or Iron Man as they sought to unmask who had set hero against hero.

99. Asura's Wrath

Metacritic Rating - 71

It's a god eat god world for demigod Asura. Betrayed by his fellows he seeks revenge in this third-person combat game. Praised for its action as well as its slick qucktime events, Asura's Wrath was quickly labelled as interactive Manga.

98. Rayman: Legends

Metacritic Rating - 91

The fifth, and arguably the best entry in the Rayman series, sees more platforming antics from our androgynous hero as he/she sets out to save ten princesses captured by nefarious nightmares.

97. Legend of Heroes: Trials in the Sky

JRPG action as dark times beset the Kingdom of Liberl. It's up to you as the games' heroine Estelle to sort it all out. Trials in the Sky is the first part of a trilogy, with parts two and three destined for translation and release next year.

96. F.E.A.R.

Metacritic Rating - 72

More gaming scares, but this time the supernatural is to blame. Special forces - think Mulder and Scully with automatic weapons - attempt to deal with incursions from the other side in this butt-clenchingly scary FPS.
