For those unwilling to take the plunge just yet, Guerrilla Games is providing a free weekend of warfare; offering Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer component for free over a four-day period.

Beginning December 28, PlayStation Plus subscribers may download the multiplayer portion to see if it takes their fancy, with the download weighing in at 12GB.

Luckily for prospective adopters, all progress made during the trial will carry over to the full game, should you decide to purchase it.

The trial runs from 00:00 AM (CET) December 28 to 00:00 AM (CET) January 1, and includes 24-player combat and customisation options – so be sure to take to the battlefield during the allotted timeframe and tackle the Helghast head-on.
