Hitman fans clamoring over recent reports concerning the cancellation of a next-generation Hitman title can sleep easy. Square Enix Europe has confirmed through Twitter that this was a simple misunderstanding sparked by miscommunication.

It was originally reported that senior game designer Richard Knight confirmed the next entry’s cancellation through his LinkedIn profile. Thankfully for advocates of the series, this no longer seems to be the case. In truth, the aforementioned tweet only supports the existence of a new iteration.
