New Tekken movie confirmed

According to a report on Cinema Today, a new Tekken film is currently in development starring Kane Kosugi of Dead or Alive Fame.

Tekken: A Man Called X is a prequel to the original Tekken film released a few years ago, and is to be directed by Prachya Pinkaew, who film fanatics should recognize as the talent behind the likes of Ong-Bak and The Protector.  Filming commences this month .

The original Tekken movie was released in March 2010 and starred John Foo, Ian Anthony Dale and Kelly Overton. The flick was panned by critics and fans alike, even attracting criticism from Katsuhiro Harada, the producer behind the Tekken video game franchise.

The latest installment in the Tekken series, Tekken Revolution, was released exclusively for PlayStation 3 last year as a free-to-play title.
