Bethesda has posted a series of job listings that hint the studio is staffing up for a brand new entry in the Fallout or Elder Scrolls franchise.
The company, a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media, is on the lookout for a programmer “to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles.” Knowledge of DirectX 11 and currently-available games machines is preferable, indicating a cross-gen launch.
Elsewhere, a quest designer is also one of the jobs up for grabs "to [design] and [document] stories and quests for future next generation products.” It goes on to say that “experience with The Elder Scrolls Construction Set or GECK [is] a plus,” along with “experience with previous Bethesda games.”
Finally, Bethesda wants an executive producer packing “comprehensive knowledge of Action/Adventure/Shooter product genres.” The mention of 'shooter' in the posting indicates something Fallout-related, though the RPG genre is conspicuous by its absence -- something which is intrinsic to the franchise, and Elder Scrolls too.
Rumors of Fallout 4 have been circulating for about a year now, though nothing official has ever been confirmed. Some fans even went so far as to fabricate a trademark filing and teaser trailer for the game late last year.
As for The Elder Scrolls, the series will soon be taking the MMO route with The Elder Scrolls Online this summer for PlayStation 4 and PC.
