Epic Games confirms it is working on 'multiple games'

Epic Games has today gone on record to reiterate that it is still making software, following speculation that they had stopped working on games to focus on the development of Unreal Engine 4.

Speculation grew from the announcement that the company had sold the Gears of War IP to Microsoft. However, Epic's PR Manager Wes Phillips went on Twitter to end all talk of them abandoning software development: "And for people saying Epic isn't making games anymore, we currently have multiple games in development, including @FortniteGame," he said.

The case of Fortnite itself has only succeeded in fueling yet more speculation. After all, Fortnite was unveiled at the 2011 Spike VGA Awards, the same event as where The Last of Us was initially announced. Since then, The Last of Us has been released and gone on to achieve worldwide critical and commercial acclaim.

Maybe Epic should follow the old advice of 'show, not tell'.
