The Division to miss 2014 release, suggests Ubisoft

Ubisoft has indicated that Tom Clancy’s The Division won’t be released until 2015.

The publisher confirmed during its latest earnings report that five major games are slated for launch during its next financial year.

These include The Crew, Watch Dogs, a new Just Dance game and two unannounced titles. However, The Division wasn’t mentioned in the report.

Speaking in regards to whether the French publisher had given official word on The Division’s release, Alain Martinez, Chief Financial Officer at Ubisoft, commented:

“No, we haven't officially. What we've said is that there is two more games [for release in FY15] that are still not announced that we will soon announce. So that's all we can say today.”

It is widely expected that one of the two unannounced games will be Assassin’s Creed V, given the fact the historical action-adventure series is on an annual release schedule. The second game remains a mystery, though it is rumored to be Far Cry 4.

Rumors had already surfaced regarding The Division’s delay into 2015, with sources close to Ubisoft Massive claiming the title had barely even started development. The game was developed specifically with next-generation hardware in mind.
