Comcast says no go to HBO GO on PS3

Many PlayStation 3 owners were thrilled to finally have access to the HBO GO app for their consoles; but if you are a Comcast subscriber, your fortune may have turned sour.

The Verge reports that Comcast subscribers are currently unable to stream media. The same initial delay occurred two years ago when the app launched on the Xbox 360.

In their article, The Verge revealed that they reached out to Sony who responded by saying they should, "...contact Comcast PR regarding its authentication policies and supported devices."

Comcast stated that, "With every new website, device or player we authenticate, we need to work through technical integration and customer service which takes time and resources. Moving forward, we will continue to prioritize as we partner with various players."

As Comcast moves along with their potential merger with Time Warner Cable, there is not a time line as to when access will be granted to PS3 owners utilizing the internet provider's services.

Has Comcast's reluctance to allow streaming of the HBO GO app on the PS3 affected any of you? Is this something subscribers should be upset about? Let know your thoughts.
