EVE: Valkyrie heading to PS4, complete with Morpheus VR functionality
Following the announcement of the worst kept gaming secret of the last few years, it’s been revealed that CCP’s EVE: Valkyrie will be heading to PlayStation 4, complete with Morpheus VR capabilities despite the developer having a co-ownership deal in place with its rival-of-sorts, the Oculus Rift.
The co-ownership deal - which many presumed would not allow any console release of the game – only applies to that of the PC, allowing for EVE developer CCP to shack up with Sony’s latest VR tech for an anticipated PS4 release.
Speaking with Polygon, a CCP spokesperson revealed, ‘’we partnered with Oculus VR to bring EVE: Valkyrie exclusively to the Oculus Rift on PC and we are thrilled to be working with Sony to bring EVE: Valkyrie to the PS4 with Project Morpheus.’’
Despite CCP’s close relationship with that of the Oculus Rift, PlayStation gamers will now be able to revel in the expansive EVE universe, following on from the success of the PlayStation 3 online shooter, Dust 514.
