E3 2014: Alien: Isolation gameplay trailer and walkthrough showcases hair-raising horror

Supporters of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror brainchild, Alien, can carry their concerns to the grave because unlike the infamous Aliens: Colonial Marines, Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation brings the suspenseful lo-fi classic to fruition as demonstrated by its official E3 trailer below.

Games tied to the Alien franchise have been leaving a sour taste in people’s mouths as of late, but Alien: Isolation looks to remedy that by reaching out to the original fiction’s roots, focusing heavily on suspenseful, fear-driven gameplay.

At E3 this week, developer Creative Assembly is taking an opportunity to take people’s breath away, literally, because by the time gamers finish up with their hands-on playthroughs, there’s not much oxygen left in the room. The show floor demo not only showcases how true Alien: Isolation is to its source material, but also demonstrates how imperative survival horror is to the game’s central theme and core gameplay mechanics.
