E3 2014 Awards: Best Indie Game

The side-scrolling platform series Oddworld has been a PlayStation favourite ever since its inception in 1997 with Abe’s Odysee and the introduction of grisly-voiced, Mudokan hero Abe.

With Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, developer Just Add Water is re-imagining this classic in glorious 1080p, with enhancements to lighting, special effects, and animation. New ‘n’ Tasty isn’t just an update though, it’s a complete re-work of the original with the same clever puzzle and level design that fans will remember and gameplay feeling as fresh as the day it first appeared on PlayStation and other platforms.

Though there were many triple-A titles at E3 2014 to play, it’s a testament to the addictive gameplay of New ‘n’ Tasty that we found ourselves engrossed in again while in the alluring world of Oddworld and RuptureFarms. A new generation of gamers who may not have experience the original have a lot to look forward to.
