Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sees return of Capture The Flag multiplayer mode

The popular ‘Capture The Flag’ multiplayer mode, which was replaced by ‘Blitz’ in Call of Duty: Ghosts, will make its return to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Though CoD: Advanced Warfare was showcased at E3 2014, and given a November 4, 2014 release date, Sledgehammer Games didn’t reveal anything at all about multiplayer. However, Sledgehammer’s co-founder Michael Condrey sent out a tweet showcasing a multiplayer scoreboard that confirms the return of ‘Capture The Flag’.

The developer behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has promised that the upcoming futuristic military shooter’s multiplayer will inject some much-needed innovation into the mix.

Speaking during a recent interview with Polygon (via COD Forum), Sledgehammer Games’ Glenn Schofield and Michael Condrey said that gamers will experience something new when they take the multiplayer component for a spin. “When you play it, can’t wait for you to do it, it’ll feel like multiplayer.. but it’ll be the most radically innovative new way to play Call of Duty multiplayer that you have seen in a long time,” said Condrey.

Elsewhere, he revealed that players will able to customize their multiplayer character in regards to race and gender, and teased that a female character will play a significant part in the game’s single-player campaign.

The story itself will span a period of ten years, and has gamers controlling a chap named Jack Mitchell. Sledgehammer spent over two years working on Advanced Warfare’s dialogue, script and story.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is scheduled for release in November for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Check out our video impressions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
