What a week to be a Star Wars fan, with ‘’Chewie, we’re home’’ sending tingles up the unmentionables of many a man-child and that FIFA World Cup ball droid being awesome. Meanwhile, that Battlefront game is looking especially exciting for us gaming folk, but is it missing something? No, not half the content hidden away in DLC packs, it was the other EA touches that weren’t all that apparent to me. No matter, I’m sure they’ll add in these Star Wars Battlefront features later…
Mass Effect DLC skins!
EA would be missing a big ol’ trick if they didn’t shove some Commander Shepard action into Battlefront. Especially considering BioWare’s past with the franchise. Star Destroyers re-skinned as the Normandy? Threepio swapped out for Joker? Princess Leia in FemShep garb? All for the low, low price of a dollar an item? Sign me up!
In-Game Radio!
Well, as a colleague kindly pointed out, if you really wanted to swoop through the legs of an AT-AT with ‘’Paradise City’’ blaring out of your ship then there’s always Spotify, but why wouldn’t you fill the skies of Endor with the latest chart (s)hits and classic rock as you obliterate Rebel forces? It’s the done thing.
Star Wars Ultimate Team!
The signs are already there, you’ll be able to play as Darth Vader and Boba Fett so the natural progression of that is to take EA’s winning digital trading card metagame and let players create their perfect Star Wars squadron for no reason beyond online winky-waving. Want an In-Form Count Dooku? Gonna cost you a cool one million credits pal. Yes, obviously in real money.

Dead Space ‘’Necromorph Mode’’
We know that EA want nothing more than to beat Activision at their own shootybang game and there is one thing Battlefront needs to compete with -nay, surpass- CoD. A zombie mode of its very own that utilizes Visceral’s Dead Space. A bit of lore-destruction can allow the massive twist that Tau Volantis and Hoth are one and the same planet. As a result…Necromorph Stormtroopers. You know it makes sense.

Space Dinosaurs!
DICE and Dinosaurs have been the stuff of legend in recent Battlefield games so it’s a surefire bet that they will make good on that long-running tease and unleash a Spinosaurus that eats the Ewoks if your squad manages to do that cringey Han Solo dance from Star Wars Kinect in perfect unison.

Totally Stable Servers at Launch!
Well, the rest of the ideas were ridiculous so I just rolled with the punches.
