Jaffe: God of War III "looks like a painting come to life"

God of War director David Jaffe has commented at length in his blog today regarding his recent visit to SCE Studios Santa Monica and the new God of War III footage he was shown.
"HOLY HOLY HOLY F****** HELL!," wrote Jaffe.
"I thought Gears of War 2 looked about as good as a next-gen game could look...[but] dudes and dudettes, f****** wait till you see the amazing graphics... just f****** wait."
"I ain't no fan boy but this mother f****** game looks like nothing you've ever played... and you can hold me to that when this thing hits and when they start showing gameplay footage. It looks like a painting come to life -it's THAT good looking."
As you can tell, Jaffe seems pretty excited with what was shown, providing plenty of expletive remarks in regards to the game’s visuals. Hopefully it won’t be long for us to catch a glimpse of Kratos’ latest adventure in action.

great graphiques don't = excellent game, but I am hoping that god of war 3 lives up to all the hype it's getting especially since this is a ps3 only title! Either way I'll want to play the first 2 before getting this one!

Its bull when people say "graphics over gameplay"
its just a fanboys defence.
Amazing graphics means good game....face it.

and please princevegeta1980 that whole "great graphics dont = excellent game" is really just meant to be used by reviewers. we know that, but we EXPECT great graphics and i would like to know just how great they are

he just hyped up one of the most anticipated games. any1 who reads will be expecting this to be what he says, if its not, then the game fails because of what he said

I am expecting great graphics and i know the gameplay will be excellent so i really am excited 4 this.

Someone always has to come onto a story and say something like that. We all know that graphics do not make an excellent game........... we don't need you to tell us that. Most people are going to hold them up to the standards of their previous games so that wouldn't have been a question. Without you saying anything it would be clear as day that you have not played the originals.
Besides how many games have you played that looked great and played horrible vs those that looked great AND played great?

1. It's a Sony game so we know the graphics for their own games will always out shine 3rd party games HS, MS 1&2, Uncharted, KZ 2 (best graphics on PC or console), and now GOW 3!!
2. You couldn't mess up GOW3's gameplay if you tried it's been great through 3 iterations 1 of which was on PSP. So the only things to get excited for would be graphics, and story!!

pricevegeta1980s comment "great graphiques don't = excellent game" made me laugh outloud. How can you say that in the same sentence where you discuss God of War? The first two were probably the best games in the genre, ever. I don't say that lightly... I had abandoned the Playstation in favor of the XBOX until my brother had me play God of War. It changed my mind completely. It is better than you have heard. They were the best games made for the PS2.

Have you seen the review he gave while drunk at a Sony party> pretty much the same thing. The man has never been a politician, he's just a guy who likes games and gets paid to make them. As a regular person who's no longer an official Sony Employee his opinion has a high probability of mirroring our own.
No Graphics dont = gameplay but GoW has consistantly offered enjoyable gameplay in ever iteration I doubt they're going to let this one be any different. I just hope for a few examples of new gameplay rather than it just being a prettier version of GoW2, of course even if it is,it's still a game with great entertainment potential.

Im not worried about the hype as far as if the game will be good or not. The controls and story line have never been an issue for this series

Exactly, there really hasn't been a need to improve the gameplay on this game. There is no problem with the gameplay and the graphics were solid in both GOW1 and GOW2, So GOW3 will basically be improved graphics with new moves but the gameplay I highly doubt will change at all ( It's a good thing if the gameplay doesn't change). I can't wait to see what this game will look like.
