I know that the Durabis Technology will be on the Blu-Ray disc and will protect it from scratches, dust, fingerprints, and whatnot. But what about the lens for Blu-Ray, I don't want to keep cleaning the lens like the PS2 lens. On the old fat PS2. I heard you had to clean the lens every now and then. You think Sony will use the Durabris technology on the lens?
I'm just wondering.

I've never had to clean my (fat) PS2s lense, ever. But maybe with Blu-ray disks having durabis, people will let them lay around all the time collecting dust and not care, so we might have to clean the lense more often. 8)

I've also never had to clean my fat ( I prefer the term "big-boned") PS2 lense in the 2 1/2 years I've had it. Although my friend did clean his, but that was only one time and it's run perfectly ever since. I'm not sure if Durabis technology would work on a lens (I don't see why it wouldn't, but there could be a reason).

LOL big boned ahh thats classic .. well i think if they cant put the durabis on the lens it would have to be with application of putting it on evenly to not mess up the optics of the lens since it has to focus onto a rather small portion of the disc you want it to be as accurate as possible and i thought that the durabis coating was put on while the disc's were spining or something i dont know were i read that maby i am just drunk...

So this durabis Tec is what is keeping the PS3 disc clean and scrath free i was wondering with the 1 mm of protection and all... i've never had to clean my PS2 (lense) original and slimline.
So... where in the Internet is this video of it working?!
Ive been searching for ages for this video of the disc being scratched by a screwdriver that people were talking about ages ago.
I cant find it, all i can find is pictures of the steel wool, or someones account of fetching a Durabis coated disc out of a ventshaft with a coat hanger...
Anyone got any links for it since ive been searching for ages now and my heads going to explode if i search anymore >_<

Every console is going to get dusty...I recently had to clean out my Xbox because it wouldn't read some disks. I guess if it's such a big deal to take 5 minutes and open up the console, maybe you can demand they install wipers on the lense or something.
