FF7 Advent Children Blu-Ray Release Date Announced

Square-Enix has announced a release date for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Complete in Japan - November 30th, 2007.
After the roaring success of FF7’s movie sequel, Advent Children, Square-Enix has decided to return to the movie one final time to do the storyline and imagery justice better than was managed with the initial release with a special edition release of the movie for FF fans, also using the new release as part of it’s Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Complete is a directors’ cut of the movie, featuring scenes and action that were either cut completely or not finished in time for the initial release, as well as a bunch of other exclusive extras on the disc, all in high definition. The movie is exclusive to Sony’s Blu-Ray format which can be played by the PS3, home to Final Fantasy XIII.

isnt the movie suppose to have couple of more details to the movie, as cloth tear, and bullet holes and all that stuff?, well i know for sure i'll be picking this movie up when it arrives here! :DD. cool thanks.

just to get a little off topic but is it possible to play blu-rays from different regions without a problem.. better yet any word on if this will have different language options?

Do a search on Blu-ray region coding and you will find out that these two are in fact region 1. Wikipedia has a list of what region is what. I believe Region 1 consists of US, JPN, Taiwan, Region 2 or 3 is Euro, Region 2 or 3 by itself is China. And so on, so JPN blu-rays will play on a US ps3. But a Euro release will not, as for subtitles time will only tell. I sure hope it has subtitles because I have a friend who's going to japan I'll tell him to pick it up for me.

Yea, that's what I did.
It's how I knew both countries use the same region coding.

Finally it's here, FFVII Blu-Ray. I believe most Japanese movies will not have english subs, but i could be wrong about this one. :) Props to Sony/square for revealing the release date. Now I shall wait for the North American version.
Cool it's finally dated. But it would be a while before it is released in Australia.

It could take along time before you see it in North America. Just hope they include the English subtitles.
I can almost bet that they will have the English subtitles on there, as many Asian or Foreign imports do.
I'll import this ASAP, I'll keep you guys posted on where to order.

Difficult to say, this will be my first bluray movie from Japan I'll be getting, in the past dvds from Japan had subs but mostly Asian only
My guess is Square may ask to have English put on the disc as one of the options since they know how popular it is in the US, but we'll see in the end
It probably won't be out in the US for awhile, I remember how long it took for the dvd version of Advent Children to release here after I imported mine

I believe they still had the japanese voice acting and subs on the US DVD. No real reason why they wouldn't include at least English subs on the Japanese version.
I'll import it if it does have subs. So glad there's plenty of guinnea pigs on this forum. :]

May 12, 2007 - Today at the Final Fantasy Anniversary party in Makuhari Japan, Square-Enix showed-off a trailer for Advent Children Complete at the Closed Mega Theatre. In case you haven't heard, there's a director's cut version of Advent Children is coming to Blu-Ray. It'll have new footage that didn't make it into the previously released version of the CG movie.
In the trailer we saw all kinds of new scenes. During the motorcycle chase towards the end of the movie, Kadaj uses a never-used-before gun on his bike to fire at Cloud. Also, when Cloud and Sephiroth are fighting, Sephiroth stabs Cloud in the shoulder, and picks him up with the sword. These are just some of the interesting snippets we were teased with. I'm sure more will make into the final movie. Even though no release day for the U.S. has been announced, I'm almost positive it has to be coming here. Considering that HD absorption is pretty big in the U.S., it's too big of market to ignore. We'll keep you posted and details trickle in.
So basically this means around August for a North American release? That really sucks if it's true, SE was so ****ing slow at getting Advent Children out in North America on ****ing DVD. They better not take this long, can't they just release it at the same bloody time?

Japan always gets the product first, if you're so anxious to get it import the title or just wait
who seriously wants to watch this movie in english? this movie is much better in japanese with eng subs.. the way it should be

The Japanese one won't have English subs I'm guessing, just like the Japanese DVD didn't have English subs. If it did then I'd gladly import it, but the movie is better in Japanese with the subs. I'll wait, waited for Advent Children to come out on DVD here.

After watching the English dvd version of this movie and heard Cloud voice, I almost wanted to trash the movie. -_-

I have to agree with you on that but one thing, the English Dubs were actually done pretty well for this release.

I like Clouds voice... I also like not having to read every single line of text in a movie. I don't mind subtitles, but I would prefer to be able to watch the movie, instead of getting a glimpse in between speech.

It is, one of the annoying factors of liking things overseas.

What makes you think this is another movie? it's the same movie with additional scenes
you might wanna play the FFVII game on PS1 :)
I love that the same people who did the english voices for the characters in Advent Children do the voices for them in Kingdom Hearts 2, Dirge of Cerberus and the upcoming Crises Core.
Sorry to break it to ya, but the listing for this title is now gone...... so I don't think it is coming out at the moment, or this year.

Yes. Me too, but they said (I can't find the link at the moment) they think its because there isn't a big enough HD market in Japan yet.

That movie is completely unrelated.
I haven't heard the English voice acting on FF7:AC yet. I watched it in Japanese with subs. I only watch anime in JP w/subs.
Too bad it got bumped. You'd think they'd release it to promote Blu a bit more overseas. I'm sure there's plenty of otaku that would buy it.

Advent Children Complete( the Blu-Ray movie) is not cancelled it's just the date.
This isn't the first time sony pictures dates has turned out to be completly wrong, a couple of months ago they said that the movie would be realesed in Europe this November and so far we have seen nothing and then theres the faqt the Square Enix themeselves haven't said a word on when the movie will be realesed they haven't said the year it will come.
So i would say that until we hear something from Square take Sony Pictures dates with a grain of salt.
I shouldn't have said it was canceled, ... more like pushed back to no exact time.
Too bad i'm really waiting to see this Movie in Blu i'm sure it will look just awesome, well anyway as long we are going to get the movie i don't care when it's A Final fantasy we always wait :D
